Weekend Recap: Visiting My Sister and Baltimore Adventures

Good Morning! It’s time to begin another week – but first, let’s chat about the weekend! I hope you had a great one, whether you enjoyed a fun weekend, or spent time relaxing at home.

Friday afternoon I had another Physical Therapy session scheduled. (Missed my post about my first PT visit? Check it out here to catch up: My First Time at Physical Therapy.) I left the session feeling a little bit better, so am hopeful future sessions will get things back to normal. After a few errands and cleaning the house, I spent the rest of the night relaxing at home, since an early morning was on the agenda for Saturday.

Early Saturday morning I drove up to Baltimore to visit my older sister, Kate. She lives farther away, so I don’t get to see her too often. When she called to let me know she would be there for work, we scheduled time to get together. We met at Paper Moon Diner for breakfast. Eclectic and colorful is the only way to describe this diner!

I felt like I had been transported into a scene from The Wizard of Oz after walking in. The menu offered a variety of options though; vegan and vegetarian choices and well as meat options offered something for everyone.

I chose an egg white, avocado, and tomato sandwich on multigrain bread. We stayed for a little while after eating to linger over coffee and visit. It was so nice to see her, though I wish our visit had been longer!

After she left for work, Devin and I drove to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore to do some sightseeing and explore. It would have been nicer with a little warmer weather, but at least the rain held off until today!

We enjoyed the scenic views and shops, and stopped by the Top of the World Baltimore Trade Center. The exhibit is located on the 27th floor, providing incredible views of the Baltimore skyline, city, and Inner Harbor. My pictures don’t do it justice, but I highly recommend stopping by the Trade Center if you are ever visiting Baltimore.

Gallery signs included pictures and information about historic Baltimore, as well as a wall dedicated to the victims of the tragedy of 9/11.

After exploring in Baltimore, we drove through Annapolis on the way home. A coffee stop was much needed! At the Starbucks in Annapolis, they sell several types of coffee from around the world, in addition to their normal kinds. I chose the “Cameroon,” a blend of spices with a silky chocolate finish.

Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite stores, and since we don’t have a location here, I have to stock up when we drive by the Annapolis location! Favorites from yesterday included: Peanut Butter Cups (dark chocolate ones = heaven!), Cranberry Maple Nut granola, Trail Mix, Granola Bars, and Oatmeal.

Of course I couldn’t leave Annapolis without doing some shopping! I’ve wanted a monogrammed mug from Anthropologie for the longest time, so was excited to finally get one.

On Sunday, I attended a dance recital for my younger sister, Julie. The rest of the day was spent doing a little grading, lesson planning, and relaxing before the start of a new week! Have a wonderful Monday!
