Friday Favorites #2

Happy Friday! I’m definitely grateful for the gift of each weekend, and the chance to rewind a little bit after each week. I’m popping in before the weekend officially starts to share a few things I’ve been loving this week. As usual, I’d love to hear some of your favorites as well. I just can’t seem to get enough of this lately! Creamy and filling, avocado provides a great source of healthy fats in your diet. I’ve been adding avocado to just about everything lately – on top of toast, on soup, in salads, with egg whites, in a vegetable wrap – seriously, everything! I used to not be a fan of avocado, but the way I’ve been eating it lately, I think I’m making up for lost time.




I recently ordered a Caesar salad at Panera, and requested they add avocado and diced tomatoes. I find the addition of the avocado makes the salad a little more filling. So, so good! (Healthy tip – order dressing on the side to save calories and control how much you’re using!)


Redken Shampoo


After getting my hair trimmed last week, I noticed that my hair had much more volume to it from the shampoo used in the salon. Soon after I received a coupon for Ulta in the mail, so I knew just what to use it towards! When I stopped by Ulta running errands one day, I checked and saw their Redken shampoo was on sale. On sale + a $10 off coupon?! Yes, please! Since the price of the shampoo with the discount was much more reasonable, I decided to buy a bottle to try.



I’ve been loving the extra volume and smoothness it gives my hair. I usually switch up the kind of shampoo I buy depending on what is on sale, but a girl’s gotta splurge every once in awhile!




Carrots ‘N’ Cake Booty Challenge


When I first saw this daily booty challenge posted on Carrots ‘N’ Cake, a healthy living blog I follow, I immediately took a screenshot to return to it later. Tina’s challenge focuses on just a few exercises each day, making it a simple one to add to your daily routine. The best part? Each workout is only 5 minutes long! A 5 minute workout doesn’t seem too hard to fit into each day, but it all adds up in the end, so this workout is on my to-do list to begin on Monday! She’ll be sharing 5 minute workouts daily for the month of May. I think it’s a great way to get motivated for summer!


Dunkin Donuts coffee




Dunkin Donuts recently opened a new location by the school I work at, and gave away free coffee cards to the first 200 customers on its opening day. I stopped by before work, and received a travel mug and coffee coupon card. It was a great way to start my Monday!! Starting this past week, you can redeem the card for a free hot or iced coffee each day. Since I’ve been stopping by on the way to work each morning, I knew this one had to make its way onto my Friday Favorites list!


This evening I’m stopping by a winery in the area for a bonfire, music, and a little wine. Sounds like a great Friday night to me! Then on Sunday, I’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day with my family. If you’re a mom, I wish you a Happy Mother’s Day this weekend – enjoy YOUR day!
