My name is Amanda, and I’m a 5th grade teacher living in Salisbury, MD. Build a Balanced life follows a life fueled by my passion for fitness, healthy eating, and finding balance in life’s ordinary moments.

On Build a Balanced Life, you’ll find healthy recipes, simple workouts, and pictures from my life. I have always been passionate about fitness and healthy living, even more so the last few years, so I enjoy sharing a healthy, active lifestyle with others.

 

 

 

My favorite ways to stay fit are by running and lifting weights. I ran my first half marathon in Hershey, PA in October 2012, followed by the Island to Island half marathon from Assateague Island to Ocean City in April 2014. I’ve also completed many 5k’s, and several 10k races. When I’m not running, you can typically find me in the gym, lifting free weights or taking a group fitness class. I also practice Yoga and Pilates on occasion. I enjoy trying new recipes and while I eat healthy most of the time, I make sure to indulge in my favorite foods and dessert sometimes, too!
